Professional Education
Seminars
I have over 25 years experience in developing and teaching professional education courses ("short courses") on radar signal processing and digital signal processing. Currently, I offer the following three seminars for presentation at your site on a consulting or fee-for-service basis. Contact me for more detailed descriptions and for information on scheduling, pricing, and customization of content.
Please note that participation in these seminars does not earn any Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
Previous Georgia Tech Short Courses
I have over 25 years experience in developing, directing, and teaching in several Georgia Tech short courses . I have now retired from involvement in GT short courses. Information on GT short courses can be found at the GT Distance Learning and Professional Education site.

- Introduction to Radar Signal Processing Evolved over 25+ years, this is a three-day seminar for engineers and related technical personnel introducing the most important signal models and processing techniques used in a wide variety of radars. Major topical areas include signal models, detection, waveforms, Doppler processing, imaging, and overviews of adaptive processing and tracking. A more detailed description is available by clicking on the seminar title above.
- Overview of Synthetic Aperture Radar Concepts and Signal Processing. This is a one-day seminar presenting a general overview of the basic principles, common image formation algorithms, and SAR phenomenology. Also included are introductions to the advanced techniques of combined SAR and ground moving target indication (SAR/GMTI), and 3-D interferometric SAR. The seminar is suitable for radar engineers and technical program managers, as well as technical personnel new to the area of SAR imaging . A more detailed description is available by clicking on the seminar title above.
- Digital Signal Processing Refresher is a 2.5-day seminar reviewing basic digital signal processing (DSP) theory and techniques. It is intended for engineers and software developers with some previous DSP exposure, but needing a review and update to their skills; or for a fast introduction to DSP for technical personnel new to the area. Major topics include sampling and aliasing; discrete Fourier analysis; linear systems; digital filters; random signals and noise; and more.
